Obituary

With great sadness and enduring love, we announce the passing of William Jacob Vaughan, who left this world on July 10, 2025, just shy of his 40th birthday.

Born on July 19, 1985, William lived a life full of love, grit, and deep devotion to his family. A proud father, son, brother, and friend, William's heart was most at home when he was with his fiancée and daughter, Gabriella Maldonado and Rylie Vaughan, who were the light of his life and his greatest joy.

William was a hardworking man who held careers as both a car salesman and roofing industry—fields where his charm, and determination made a lasting impression. But beyond work, William found his true peace in the outdoors and in making memories with those he loved. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, crafting with his hands, and taking trips to Caddo Lake and beach vacations with his family. His dogs were more than pets—they were companions who shared in many of his quiet moments and wild adventures.

He is survived by his mother, Miley Stapleton, and stepfather, Bill Stapleton; his fiancée, Gabriella Maldonado; and his daughter, Rylie Vaughan; his brothers John Stapleton, Tim Butler, and Cade Vaughan; and his sisters Jennifer Stapleton and Erica Stapleton. William's love for his family ran deep, and he will be profoundly missed by them all.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Frank Vaughan; his grandmother, Marleen Vaughan; his grandfather, Charles Rodney Butler (Papa Doc); his grandmother, Mary Jane Hinkle; and his grandfather, Roger Hinkle. Their memories, and the love they shared, are now eternal.

William will be remembered for his big heart, his unshakable loyalty, his love for the simple things, and the way he made every moment count—especially with his fiancée and daughter by his side. His legacy lives on in the stories told; the laughter shared and the bonds that can never be broken.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
—John 14:1–3
