Obituary

Weldon Lee Hindsley, a devoted father, proud Army veteran, and lifelong truck driver, passed away on March 14, 2025.

Born January 31,1943 in Windom, TX, Weldon was the son of Perry Hindsley and Bessie Tyler.  He was preceded in death by his parents and all 8 of his siblings.

He spent his early years with a strong sense of duty and commitment while in the Army, values he carried with him throughout his life.  After his service he began a career as a truck driver, a profession he embraced for over 40 years.

Weldon was a supportive father who loved his children unconditionally.  His parenting style was one of leading by example, showing steadfastness, love, patience, and humor.  He is survived by all of his children, daughter Elaina Fowler and husband Eric of Denison, son Gary Hindsley of Sherman, daughter Brandie Ostrander of Savoy, and grandson Devin Hindsley of Sherman who he helped raised as his own, 3 additional grand kids and 2 great grand kids.

Weldon was a simple man who valued the comforts of family, home, a good home-cooked meal, and the open road.  His presence wasn't loud or imposing, but one of silent strength, and humility.

Friends and family are invited to join a celebration of his life, which includes a service and a meal:
