In Loving Memory of Wanda Pearl Bowman
February 20, 1932 - May 29, 2026
"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23

Wanda Pearl Bowman, age 94, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 29, 2026, in Denison, Texas. She was born on February 20, 1932, in Goose Creek, Texas. Wanda's family moved to Rising Star, Texas, when she was in the eighth grade. She excelled academically, graduating as valedictorian of Rising Star High School before earning her bachelor's degree from North Texas State College.

While attending school in Denton, Wanda met the love of her life, John Bowman. Together they built a Christ-centered marriage that spanned 65 blessed and happy years. Their devotion to one another was a testament to God's faithfulness and grace.

Wanda's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She and John faithfully served in their churches throughout the years and remained active in ministry for as long as their health allowed. At Nassau Bay Baptist Church in Houston, they were honored as Man and Woman of the Year in recognition of their dedication and Christian service. Wanda joyfully poured her heart into Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, AWANA Bible Club, and countless acts of kindness that often went unseen but were never unnoticed by those whose lives she touched.

Wanda will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle spirit, and her extraordinary kindness.  She was generous beyond measure, always placing the needs of others before her own. Yet those who knew her best also cherished her sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor. Whether through a perfectly timed remark, a clever observation, or a playful tease, Wanda had a gift for making people laugh and feel at ease.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, John Bowman; her parents W.G. and Bertha Reed; sisters Roberta (Ed) Welsh and Mary (Bob) Quindlen; and her brother T.F. Reed.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Bowman Paetz; grandchildren Chris Paetz (Nacole), Tony Paetz, and Melanie Goetz (Greg); and her treasured great-grandchildren Charity, Trey, and Charles Paetz; and Sydney, John, and Caroline Goetz.  Though distance sometimes separated them, Wanda delighted in every milestone, every visit, and every opportunity to share in their lives.
She is also survived by sister-in-law Ruby Reed, treasured cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Having finished her earthly journey and entered the presence of her Savior, Wanda now sees with perfect clarity the Wonder she celebrated throughout her life. As we remember her, we are reminded of the words of her favorite song "What a Wonderful World."

The family will celebrate Wanda's life with a fellowship in Sherman Saturday, June 6th from 10-12.  Contact family for details.
