Obituary

Toni Marcelle Dunn, age 61 passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the home of her son, Christopher Dunn in Sherman, Texas.

Toni was born in Lynwood, California on October 9, 1962, to Mitchell and Evelyn Dunn.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher Dunn and his wife Monica, Brandon Dyer and his wife Traci, Dustin Dyer; her step daughter, Emily Gomez, Grandchildren, Phillip Enzor, Dylan Davis, Jeremy Davis, Jacob Clark, Kendra Holman, Shyan Clark and Waylon Dyer; Great Granddaughter Kehlani; Siblings, Pamela Floyd, Paula Dunn, Cindy Mitchell, Mike Dunn and his wife Lisa; and many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

She is predeceased by her Granddaughters Kiersten Dunn and Heaven Dunn; Sister Dianne Dunn; and her parents Mitchell and Evelyn Dunn.

Toni grew up in Whittier, California, in her junior year of high school her father retired and moved the family to Antlers, Oklahoma.  Her Father and Mother were initially from Hugo, Oklahoma and it was their desire to return to their homeplace.  They purchased a ranch and began a new life in the country.   What culture shock for Toni as a teenager, California Valley Girl meets Country.  She graduated from high school in Antlers, Oklahoma.

After the birth of her son Christopher, she decided she had enough of the country life and moved to Sherman, Texas.  She was a single mother and worked as a waitress to support her son.  She eventually married and had two more sons, Brandon, and Dustin.

She eventually went on to work as a Manager of Applebees in Sherman.  Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo treatment.  She survived cancer but a few years later she learned that she had a brain aneurysm.  She had to have major surgery but overcame this as well.  Her quality of life began to deteriorate, but she strived to do the best she could.  She unfortunately had two more aneurysms and then was diagnosed with bone cancer. She tried hard to overcome this last infliction; however, it was not possible.

Toni enjoyed being a cub scout mom and attending her son's baseball games.  She loved crafting and gardening and spending time with Family.  She loved cooking and hosting get-togethers for family and friends.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Toni is remembered by her family and friends as being sassy and high spirited.  She loved to make jokes and had "wicked" sense of humor.  She had a big heart and a fierce loyalty when it came to Family.

Toni will be truly missed by family and friends…..Fly High with those that went before us and watch over those who remain.

The memories of our time with you are something we will always hold dear to our heart.

God Bless You, we love you.
