Thomas Michael "Mike" Holmes was born September 9, 1948 in Gilmer, Texas to Thomas Walton (T.W.) Holmes, Jr and Josephine Holmes.  He grew up in Winfield, Texas and attended high school in Mt. Pleasant, Tx.

Mike graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce with a BBA in Economics-Finance and General Business and an MS in Business Administration and Guidance and Counseling.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lura Ann Lide Holmes, unborn daughter Ann Michelle Holmes, father Thomas Walton (T. W.)  Holmes, Jr., mother Josephine Holmes, and brother Rocky Holmes.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Holmes, of the home, sister-in-law Grace Holmes of Missouri City, Texas,  brother-in-law Dale Pardue and wife Nancy of Boswell, Oklahoma, brother-in-law Jerry Pardue and wife Alejandra of Sugarland, Texas, nieces Molly Holmes Christie and her husband Mick of Abilene, Texas, Janey Holmes Korth and her husband James of Fort Worth, Texas, Cayce Pardue Green and her husband Cory of Honey Grove, Texas, nephews Chris Pardue and his wife Lindsay of Boswell, Oklahoma, Jeran Pardue of Madison, Wisconsin, Bryce Pardue and his wife Haley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Erick Barretto of Sugarland, Texas, and Daniel Pardue and his wife Ashley of Boswell, Oklahoma.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Eastridge Church of Christ in Rockwall, Texas.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Restlawn Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
