Shirley May Sargent, 83, was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. A devoted mother, wife, and friend Shirley will be missed beyond measure.

She was born on May 20, 1940 and was the eldest of ten children. Shirley grew up in Vailoa, Samoa and after attending Leone High School moved to Hawaii where she met her husband, Larry Lee Sargent Sr., and started their family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Lee Sargent, son Larry Sargent Jr, daughter Jo Ann Stephens (Jay), brothers Scott Manning (Margaret), Solomona Taimalie (Sulia), and sister Sosefina Ala (Late-Ala Alaiealofa).

She is survived by her sons Michael Wilks (Joelle) of Las Vegas, NV and Roger A. Sargent (Raven) of Sherman, Texas, brothers, Roy Satele (Elisapeta), Sanele Taototo (Late-Kilisitina), Pesi Taototo (Mary), Siala Taototo (Monika), sisters Mary Ellen (Gilbert) Naylor, and Koreta Maria Taototo, grandchildren Victoria Higashi (Brandon), Verena Wilks, Vanna Wilks, Shannon Parker, Alejandra Sargent, Roger Michael Sargent (Dalia), Katie Sargent, Kassandra Sargent, Miranda Kittrell (Scott), Morgan Brady (Beau), Tyler Banks, Jon Sargent, Kirstin Haines (Steve), and 16 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 22, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at St Francis Catholic Church, Whitesboro, TX.  Rosary will be Thursday, March 21, 2024, 6:00 p.m. at American Funeral Service, Denison, TX.
