Shelby Gean O'Neal was born on March 3, 1939, in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas. Her parents were Warren and Effie Brooks. She married the love of her life, Glen Paul O'Neal, on March 1, 1955. They traveled extensively and made their home in Sherman, Texas. Glen and Shelby were married for 61 years.

Shelby was generous, caring and always willing to help her family and others. She will be remembered as "one of a kind" and was full of life, laughter and known for having a good time. She loved to watch romantic comedies and Fox News. Her favorite past time was to play cards, farkle and right-left-center with her family and friends and an occasional casino run.

Glen and Shelby owned and operated an automotive business "Auto Fix It" before retiring. Even after the loss of her spouse, daughter, Linda Barnett and her declining health, she continued to enjoy life as best she could. Shelby would consider her greatest accomplishment to be her family.

Shelby is survived by her four children; Debra Young, Marsha (George) Farrar, Rhonda (Ron) Farrare and Paul (Shawnna) O'Neal; her eight grandchildren David (Misty) Vincent, Misty Waddington, Danny (Stacy) Vincent, Michael (Heather) Gray, Jeremy (Ruby) Gray, James (Caroline) Farrar, Cassie Farrar, Jason Garland, and Glen Paul O'Neal; her nine great grandchildren Kerri (Blake) Hanford, Corey Vincent, Jordan Waddington, Jacob Waddington, Joshua Waddington, Samantha Farrar, Katie Farrar, Keegan Farrar, Makayla Farrar, Caleb Vincent and Landon Vincent; great-great grandchild Iris Farrar.

Shelby will live in our hearts and memories, and we rest in the certainty that we will see her again.

A memorial service will be held at Villas of Sherman, 1212 W. Center Street, Sherman, TX 75092 on August 30, 2025 at 2:00pm CST.
