Ruth Eileen Berkgren, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on January 18, 2025. Ruth was born on October 24, 1932 in Wellington, KS to Harley and Carrie Fortner.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her smile and humor will be greatly missed.

Ruth was survived by her daughters; Janice Allsup, Debbie and Tim Harper and Sandy and Robert Nemer; five grandchildren; Roy Allsup, William Allsup, Michael Brantley, Steven Brantley, Wesley Funderburk, Rob Nemer and their families; as well eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harley and Carrie Forter, her spouse; Royal Berkgren in 2011, her daughter; Connie Brantley, her brothers; Willaim Forter and James Fortner

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, 1:00 P.M. at American Funeral Home in Denison, TX.  The family will have visitation at noon.
