Roy Ray Mealer, 44, of Randolph went home to be with the Lord Wednesday September 6, 2023.

Roy was born February 21, 1979 in Lewiston, ID to Ron Mealer and Judy Whatley.   After more than 25 years as a heavy tow operator & OTR trucker in 2020 Roy retired. He also served our community for over 10 years as a Randolph volunteer firefighter.  In 2021, Roy hit the open road with Carol to travel full-time off-grid in a 2015 Jeep JKU.  The vault of videos vlogged from our adventures can be found on YouTube Overlanding Adventures of America.  He was a devoted husband, father, papaw, son, brother and friend.

Roy was preceded in death by his grandma Callie Mealer; grandad & grandma Dillon & Jean Herring; father Ron Mealer; dad Weldon Whatley; and brother Jerry Whatley.

Roy is survived by wife Carol; mother Judy Whatley of Randolph, TX; 4 children: Levi (Ashley) Mealer of Leonard, TX; Macie (Mark) Mealer of Marianna, FL; Alexis (Derrick) Relford of Denison, TX; Christian (Kayla) Slagle of Abilene, TX; brother Greg (Kay) Mealer of Leonard, TX; 9 grandchildren: Drew, Aaliyah, Daedyn, Zoey, Dayne, Braxton, Sebastian, Addie Jo and we welcome Ava in March; along with numerous relatives and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Leonard Park Pavillion.      In Lieu of flowers please send donations to the Randolph VFD P.O. Box 131 Randolph, TX 75475   Pastor Rick Richardson will officiate.
