Christmas
Sep 24, 1948 — Mar 29, 2026
Bonham
Robert Dale Christmas, a devoted father and grandfather, proud veteran, and cherished member of his community, passed away on March 29th, 2026, at the age of 77.
Born on September 24, 1948, in Phoenix, Arizona, Robert grew up with a deep sense of duty, integrity, and compassion—qualities that would guide him throughout his life. He answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the Marine Corps, where he honorably served during the Vietnam war. His time in the military was marked by courage, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to protecting others. He carried those values with him long after his service ended.
Above all, Robert was a family man. As a father, he was a steady source of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. He taught by example—showing the importance of hard work, honesty, and standing up for what is right. Whether through quiet advice, shared laughter, or simply being present, he left a lasting imprint on the lives of his children.
He found joy in rebuilding bicycles, fishing and Everything sports related. He was known for his quirky sense of humor, kindness and generosity. Friends and neighbors will remember him as someone who could always be counted on, someone who gave more than he took, and someone who made others feel valued.
He is survived by his two sons James Ryan Taylor and Charles Steven Apodaca. Daughters Angela Pereira and Amanda Lindsey. Nieces Sara Smith, Natalie Smith, Abigail Smith, Charli Doyal and Leanna Lane. Nephew Omar Hammoudeh. Grand children James Taylor Jr., Daniel Taylor, Isaiah Lindsey, Mason Taylor and Aurora Taylor. His Grand dog RUCA. He was preceded in death by his son Robert Christmas Jr. Sisters Charlotte Smith and Elizabeth Christmas. Brothers Uncle Jimmy and Uncle Charlie. Family will carry forward his legacy of love and service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you simply thank a veteran for their service in recognition of their lifelong dedication to others.
Though he is no longer with us, Robert's spirit lives on—in the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Semper Fidelis "Dad." Forever in our hearts.
