Obituary

Rebecca "Becky" Jane Jackson Weemes, a devoted servant of the Lord, passed away on June 14, 2025 at the age of 83. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend—known for her fierce spirit, sharp mind, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

Born to John and Irene Jackson on December 10, 1941 in Akron, Ohio Becky spent her life as a living example of Christ's love. She embraced every opportunity to serve others, whether through ministry, community work, or simple everyday kindness. Her passion for sharing the Gospel shaped every aspect of her life, and her faith was the cornerstone of who she was.

Feisty and full of life, Becky never shied away from speaking truth with boldness and grace. She had a quick wit, a keen intelligence, and a heart that opened wide to those in need. To know her was to know strength, joy, and deep, abiding love.

She leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Hoyt Weemes, and her oldest daughter, Julia Weemes Copley. She is survived by her siblings: Norma Fullen, Virginia Washer, Linda Jackson, Freida Keith, and Fred "Bud" Jackson, as well as her youngest daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda Weemes Sinor and Don Sinor II, son-in-law: Kelley Copley, grandchildren: John Copley and wife Renee, Margaret Copley, Mallory Dame and husband Josiah, James Copley and wife Maryam, and Levi Sinor, along with many beloved great and great-great grandchildren, and countless others whose lives she touched with her warmth and wisdom. Pallbearers include: Mike Washer, John Copley, James Copley, Levi Sinor, Joey Copley, and Josiah Dame.

Family night will be June 18th from 6-8pm at American Funeral Chapel in Colbert, Oklahoma. A celebration of her life will be held at 2pm on June 19, 2025 at Cartwright First Baptist Church, where we will gather to honor her memory and give thanks for the extraordinary gift she was to us all. There will be no public graveside service.

And lean not on your own understanding

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He shall direct your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6.
