Raymond Ramsey Jordan, 94, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024. Born on August 15, 1930, in Bonham, TX, to Fred and Cassie Jordan, Raymond lived a life rich in love, hard work, and dedication to his family and community.

On March 12, 1949, Raymond married the love of his life, Melvina Lois Hill, with whom he shared 62 cherished years until her passing in 2011. A skilled carpenter by trade, Raymond took great pride in his craftsmanship. Later, he dedicated many years of service to Safeway, where he later retired from. In retirement, he devoted his time to brightening the days of the residents at the Southern Pointe nursing home.

Raymond's life was a testament to the values of hard work, humility, and love for family. Whether he was building something with his hands or sharing a quiet moment with loved ones, his presence was a steady and comforting force for all who knew him.  Raymond cherished his relationship with Christ and his life was a living testimony to everyone he met.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Jordan and wife Vickie of Colbert, OK, and Ted Jordan and wife Jan of Denison, TX; his daughters, Linda Sims of Rockledge, FL, and Kathy Kidwell and husband Tim of Trenton, TX. Raymond was a proud grandfather to Stephanie Behrens, Jason Allen, Michael Jordan, Josh Allen, Kayla Murphree, and Tray Kidwell. He was also blessed with 18 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Raymond is also survived by his brothers Daniel, James, Lonnie, Jerry, Larry, and Terry.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Melvina Lois Jordan; his parents, Fred and Cassie Jordan; grandsons Kevin Jordan and Christopher Jordan; great-granddaughter Hilliary Jordan; sisters Judy Hill and Louetta Clontz; and son in law Larry Sims.

Funeral services will be under the direction of American Funeral Service in Denison, TX. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Colbert, OK.  Brother Steven Alexander will officiate. Grandsons will be pallbearers, Michael Jordan, Garrett Jordan, Tray Kidwell, Anthony Jordan, Zachary Jordan, and Griffin Behrens. Grandsons Jason Allen and Joshua Allen will be honorary pallbearers.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Denison, TX.

Raymond will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and many friends. His legacy will live on through the memories he created and the lives he touched.
