Patricia Louise
Price
Aug 13, 1948 — Jul 19, 2024
Sherman
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Louise Price, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Pat passed away on July 19, 2024 with her husband of 56 years, Mike and her two sons, Dennis and Todd by her side. The oldest of three children, Pat is also survived by her brothers, Randy and Michael. She was 75 years old.
Born on the 13th of August in Memphis, Tennessee, Pat spent most of her childhood in Abilene, Texas. She met her future husband while working at Mackey's Sporting Goods in 1965 and were married in June of 1968.
Upon graduation from Abilene High School, Pat moved to Dallas where she attended nursing school through Methodist Hospital/SMU. Upon graduation, Pat spent over 30 years dedicated to serving the most vulnerable as a neonatal special care nurse, primarily at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.
Pat's legacy is one of love, compassion and service to others. She loved being a nurse and touched the lives of countless families caring for newborn babies. Patients who had the fortune of Pat taking care of their precious little ones would go on to send her countless birthday and holiday cards over the years sharing their lives with the very person who helped to make those milestones and memories a reality. As a mentor to other neonatal nurses, her spirit lives on in the practice of nursing.
After retiring, Pat loved to have morning coffee with her mom, Esther, reading, and spending time with her family, in particular her two grandsons, Zachary and Mitchell. Pat become a great-grandmother to Michelle in January of 2023 which lit up her world – finally getting a grand-daughter.
A celebration of life will be held with family and close friends at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas Neonatal Intensive Care Fund, which supports families with newborns requiring special or intensive care. Donations can be made to Texas Health Resources Foundation, PO Box 200038, Arlington, TX 76006, or online at www.texashealth.org/Foundation/Donations, select special project fund and list THD NICU.
