Pamela Ann
Hazzard
May 23, 1946 — Jan 7, 2026
Sherman
Pamela Ann Hazzard (Martinson), born in Painesville, OH in 1946 to the late Arthur Clinton Martinson and Suzanne Smith Martinson passed away quietly in Sherman, TX, Wednesday January 7th, 2026.
Pamela was a mother of two, Jemahl Martinson and John Henry II, a grandmother of four, and the widow of the late William "Hap" Hazzard.
Although she was raised in northern Ohio, Pamela found her way to the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 70's where she was a full-time mother while attending college at Laney College in Oakland and the University of California at Berkeley. As a scholar and lover of the arts, Pamela enjoyed creative writing and reading as well as finding time to share life stories and her passions for fashion, dance, music and interior design with family and friends.
In 1988 Pamela became a licensed caregiver and in 1992 moved back home to Chardon, OH to care for her elderly parents and eventually met her late husband William "Hap" Hazzard.
In 2004 Pamela's husband passed quietly, and Jemahl relocated Pamela back to CA to be closer to him and John. In 2018 Jemahl and John opted to relocate Pamela yet again, but this time to Texas to be closer to Jemahl, where she resided at the Park Manor Senior Living Community in Sherman, TX. While there she was endeared by the staff and several neighbors in her community.
Pamela is survived by her sons Jemahl and John and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She will remain forever in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
