Myra "Teddy"
Theola Wheeler
Oct 7, 1925 — Oct 11, 2025
Arlington
Teddy Wheeler, age 100, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, just days after celebrating her 100th birthday. Born on October 7, 1925, in Whitney, Kentucky (McCreary County), Teddy lived a long, glorious, and joy-filled life surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
She was the beloved daughter of Elsie Martha Morton Keith Tabor and Ale Keith. Teddy cherished her family deeply and shared a special bond with her sister, Opal Sanders, and her brother, William Tabor.
On August 26, 1966, Teddy married the love of her life, William "Bill" wheeler. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, companionship, and devotion. Teddy joined Calvary Baptist on August 10, 1980, and served on the Bereavement Committee for many years. Teddy was also the proud mother of her son, Glenn Larry Sanders, and three step-daughters, Sherrionne, Martha, and Patricia.
Teddy enjoyed a long and rewarding career with Western Union, where she made countless friends and lasting memories. She especially loved participating in the company's special holiday and celebration programs – selling Santa-grams, Bunny-grams, Candy-grams, and Birthday-grams. These occasions gave her the perfect chance to share her fun-loving personality often singing to recipients, bringing smiles and laughter wherever she went.
Teddy will be remembered for her warmth, sense of humor, and the fun-loving spirit that made every day brighter. Her 100 years were a testament to a life well-lived—one filled with kindness, faith, and love that touched all who knew her.
Teddy is survived by her grandson, Lawrence Ray Sanders and wife Brenda, great-grandsons, Bryson Dowling Sanders and Elijah Westphal Sanders, all of McDavid, Florida, step-daughter Sherrionne Brown and husband Fred of Penrose, Colorado, step-daughter Martha Tidwell and husband Bill of Arlington, Texas and step-son-in-law Mark Gregory of Missouri City, Texas, along with six step-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill Wheeler, her siblings, Opal and William, her son, Glenn Larry, and step-daughter, Patricia Gregory.
Her family and friends take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her loved ones who went before her and that her joyful legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A celebration of Teddy's life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Denison, Texas. Interment will follow beside her husband Bill at Vittitoe Cemetery in Kentucky Town, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Calvary Baptist Church.
