Melissa Kay Clontz, 61, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, in Denison, Texas. Born on June 20, 1963, in Atlas, Oklahoma, Melissa was a deeply loving and caring woman who touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth and resilience.
She was the cherished daughter of Chuck and Jay Gale Clontz, and a devoted mother to three children: Shantel Carlisle, Shawn Clontz, and Shayla Zinn. Melissa's pride and joy were her grandchildren-Mark, Samuel, William, Nevaeh, Aidan, Vincent, and Isabella-whom she adored beyond measure.

Melissa grew up surrounded by the love of her siblings, Donald, Melanie, Chester, Melinda, and Michelle. She remained close throughout her life not only with her brothers and sisters but also with her many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Her love extended far beyond family-Melissa also kept strong and meaningful connections with lifelong friends who became like family to her.

Known for her strong spirit and tender heart, Melissa found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved fishing on quiet mornings, discovering hidden treasures while thrifting, and filling her home with the comforting aroma of her delicious cooking. You could always find Melissa barefoot with a big smile on her face grounded in nature, lighthearted in spirit, and full of life. No matter what hardships she faced, Melissa always led with love, generosity, and grace.

A celebration of life will be held on June 28, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor Melissa's life, share memories, and celebrate the legacy she leaves behind.
Melissa's love lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
