Matthew M. Horneber, 70, passed away on 9-19-26 after a brief illness, with his sister by his side. He was born on 12-15-55 in Virginia, where is spent most of his life. He was honorably discharged from the United Stated Air Force in 1980 after 4 years at Castle AFB in California.

He would read the newspaper every day from front to back. His love for cars was extraordinary because he could tell you the specifics of any car that passed by.

He worked for a few years at his Father's gas station and used his Air force paving experience to pave and stripe many of the roads in Northern Virginia. His last job was a as a long-haul truck driver and retired in 2013.

He was precdeceased by his parents, Martin and Monterey Horneber and his second wife Hope Horneber.

He is survived by his sister, Melissa Berry, two children, Daniel and Lauren from his marriage to Kathleen Powers, a grandson, Richard Ekkebus and an older brother Mark.

He will be greatly missed by those who knew him including his current caretaker, Shasta, and his former caretaker Lisa Kelly, who looked out for him like a member of her own family.
