Mary Lee Pauline Garland McIntyre

March 28, 1953 – March 26, 2026

Mary Lee Pauline McIntyre of Gunter, Texas made her journey to heaven on March 26, 2026 at Baylor, Scott, White Hospital of McKinney, Texas following a brief illness. She was surrounded by family and friends who lovingly released her into God's hands.

Pauline was born March 28, 1953, daughter of Beatrice Lucille Hampton and Joseph Earl Garland. Both preceded her in death. She met her husband, Mark Edwin McIntyre in Kansas City, Missouri while he was on leave from the Navy. They married on June 16, 1972 in Denison Texas. They renewed their wedding vows on their 50th wedding anniversary in 2022. They were married for 53 wonderful years.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, April DeSimone (Ryan) of Gentry, Arkansas, son, Carl (Jess) McIntyre of Little Elm, Texas and the absolute joy of her life, her grandchildren, Natalia DeSimone, Sydney DeSimone and Riley McIntyre.

Pauline was preceded in death by her siblings Linda, Peggy, Ruby, James, Naomi (Bea), Raymond, Chipper and William. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Pauline is also survived by many dear cousins and she cherished the family members she came to know via regular family reunions. She was also survived by their two fur babies, Lucy and Daisy who were always by her side or in her lap!

She was employed at Luces Case Factory in Kansas City, Missouri. After her return to Texas, she worked for Texas Instruments and Raytheon, a major American defense contractor before disability caused early retirement.

Pauline was very creative and talented. She enjoyed making crosses out of vintage jewelry and creating diamond dot pictures to share with loved ones. She also enjoyed making dream catchers and jewelry.

In her spare time, Pauline enjoyed puzzles of all kinds. She loved dominos and playing card games. She loved going to trivia night at Lucy's in Celina with Mark and church friends. She enjoyed reading, watching movies and hamming it up for fun pictures. She loved shopping for clothes, shoes and hats. She loved finding special gifts for her loved ones with a keen eye for bargains. Pauline enjoyed going to lunch and dinner with family and friends. She was always ready to explore unknown country roads and enjoyed going on road trips. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her guacamole, buttermilk pies and Indian hominy. Pauline and Mark also enjoyed a good snipe hunt!

Pauline had a strong spiritual life and a love for Jesus as her savior. She loved her church life at Grace Bible Fellowship. She was a member of "Soul Sisters" and always looked forward to the retreats where great fellowship fed her spiritual life. Her Faith served as a beacon of light to carry her through every storm and the victory is now hers.

Pauline's bright light, spirit, laughter and beautiful smile has been taken from us too soon. She touched our hearts as a wife, mother, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend. We will fondly remember her and the legacy of memories she created with us in the days ahead, knowing she is home and we will all be together again someday in heaven.
