Marie Butler (25 Nov 1958 - 30 Nov 2024) passed away on 30 Nov 24 after a lengthy battle with cancer and leukemia.  She is survived by her mother Yvette Summers, her husband (Dan Howcroft), son Dimitrios and daughter Ayanna and Granddaughter Elaina Marie. She has several brothers and sisters: Terry, Phillip and Marc as well as Jennifer and Lisa.

Marie was born in upstate NY and grew up in Baltimore MD. Marie's rich life included travel and experiences in many places from Europe, Mexico, many islands of the Carribean and lastly Panama. Panama was one of her favorite places in her life.

Marie worked at Texas Women's University providing guidance and assistance to hundreds of students. She also attained her Masters Degree in Women's Study at TWU.

Marie was an extraordinary artist in the field of fabrics and quilting. She received a top three award at the prestigious hard and soft materials showing in Denton Texas in 2019. Her warmth was shared easily with everyone she met. Her spirit lives on in each of us and in the many pieces of art she left behind.
