Lynda Francis Odum Weatherford Emert, 72, of Hendrix, Oklahoma passed away July 15, 2026.  She will be cremated under the direction of American Funeral Service in Denison, Texas and her ashes will be buried at the foot of her Mother's grave at Fairview Cemetery in Denison, Texas.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Lynda was born on July 18, 1953 to Alvin A. and Sudie Faye (Johnson) Odum in Durant, Oklahoma.

Known for her adventurous spirit and her trademark question "Why?", she enjoyed many happy hours playing bingo and later trying her luck at the casino.  She proudly collected shot glasses from around the world.  She loved her family, drove faster than most thought necessary and lived life on her own terms.  Her spirited personality, complete with a well-known lead foot, will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved her.

Lynda is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Ellen Easley, Joe, Wayne and Huey Don Odum.

Lynda is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard Earl Emert.  Siblings Alvin A. Jr. and Mike Odum.  Daughter Serena Torres, sons Johnny (Angie) Weatherford and Steven Weatherford.  Michael Jay (Kim) Emert and Bryan (Cassandra) Emert.  17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
