Lisa Patricia McDonald
January 17, 1959 – October 15, 2026
Lisa Patricia McDonald, of Sadler, Texas, passed away on October 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of selfless love, deep faith, and devotion to her family.
Lisa Patricia Byron Blevins was born in South Carolina in 1959. Her story began on Sand Mountain in Alabama, a place that remained close to her heart throughout her life. She often shared fond memories of her childhood there and spoke with deep affection of her beloved Granny, who nicknamed her her Granny's Comforter. Her family eventually moved to Houston, Texas, where, in the eighth grade, she met the love of her life, Thomas Richard McDonald. The two were married in 1975 and built a home filled with warmth, devotion, and a deep love of the Lord that spanned 51 years.
Lisa poured her entire heart and soul into caring for others, often putting the feelings and needs of those around her far above her own. Small in stature, she possessed a sweet, gentle spirit that made everyone feel instantly welcomed. To many, she felt like a second mother and a true lifelong kin. She carried a deep-rooted, unshakeable love for her brothers and sister throughout her life, sharing a bond with her younger brother Christopher that was so close he was like another son to her. She loved to laugh and found her greatest joy in seeing her family happy, smiling, and filled with song.
Her faith in the Lord was central to who she was. Possessing a soft, tender voice, Lisa could often be heard singing hymns in church, resting in the quiet assurance that Heaven was her home. She found peace and simple beauty in nature, especially in little lavender flowers, cats, and squirrels. Her tenderness towards God's smallest creations was without measure. Above all else, she
loved her Lord, her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild more than life itself.
Lisa was preceded in death by her precious parents, Patricia and Harold Blevins; her brothers, Anthony Blevins and Lindsey Blevins; and her cherished Granny, with whom she shared a lifelong, tender bond. They were undoubtedly waiting to welcome her home with open arms.
Lisa is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Thomas Richard McDonald; her children, Angela Smith, Virginia Innes (Paul), and Thomas Aaron McDonald (Mindy); her beloved siblings, Allan Blevins, Stephanie Colunga, and Christopher Blevins; and her nieces and nephews, Paula Valdez, Olivia Powell, Amanda Lee, Melissa Colunga, Sarah Trimble, Elizabeth Dengler, Emmeline Blevins, Abigail Blevins, Elijah Blevins, Asher Blevins and Ella Blevins whom she loved as her own sons and daughters.
She was the loving granny of Marina Currie (Logan), Sophia Innes, Samuel Innes, Magnolia Innes, Jason McDonald, Lorelei McDonald, Miles Griffin, Hannah Griffin and Annemarie Smith; and the cherished great-granny of Oliver Currie.
She also leaves behind her life-long friend, Wanda Cowand, along with Wanda's children, Jonathon Rodgers and Heather Lacy, whom Lisa loved as her own, alongside a wide circle of extended family and friends whose lives were touched by her gentle heart. Lisa touched more lives than can be expressed here.
Though she will be greatly missed by all, she is now in the arms of her loved ones who've gone on before and she is resting in the eternal embrace of her Heavenly Father.
To many she was Lisa. To many she was Aunt Lisa. To many she was Granny. To all she was Mama
