Linda Sue
Neal
Jan 28, 1947 — Dec 3, 2024
Cartwright
Charles Don, 77 and Linda Sue Farrington-Neal, 77 both passed away peacefully at their residence in Cartwright, OK. Charles passed June 30, 2021 and Linda passed three and half years latter December 3, 2024. Both born in the state of Texas. Charles was born to Merris Gordon Neal and Betty Taylor Neal on August 29, 1943 in McCulloch County. Linda was born to Lester Wayne Farrington and Ruby Beatrice Hix-Farrington on January 28, 1947 in Melisa. Charles and Linda lived their lives rich in love, hard work and dedication to family and friends.
On April 23, 1965 Charles and Linda professed their love for each other in marriage. They cherished each other for 56 years until Charles' passing in 2021. Charles and Linda were proud parents of three surviving children, Sons David Lee and Kelly Don, and daughter Tracey Lynn and husband Jim Harris, and two grandsons Nathan Andrew and Joshua Taylor. Linda is survived by her brother Charles Wayne "Sonny" Farrington.
Both of their lives were a testament to the values of hard work, humility and love for family and the Lord. Charles served in the Army National Guard before he pursued an extensive career in metal working and welding where he took pride in his craftsmanship for Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union 100 for 30 plus years. In his retirement, he shared God's word and devoted his time building a church in Cartwright, as well as applying his skills helping beloved friends and family and snuck in a little guitar picking when he could. Linda was a very accomplished cook in many kitchens, from Durant Public Schools to restaurants. No matter what occupation she chose, she exceeded everyone's expectations. Whether if it was home cooking, camping, fishing, listening to music, trips to the mountains, or walks on the beach looking for arrowheads, she enjoyed life. With their imagination and competitive spirit, they brought out the best in folks. Charles and Linda found joy in sharing their love, interest and time with their grandchildren before their passing.
They were proceeded in death by their first-born infant son Joey Wayne Neal, Linda's brother Johnny Lee Farrington, sisters Judy Carol Weger and Shirley Ann Pennell, plus previously mentioned parents.
Memorial services and arrangements will be determined at a later date.
Charles "Mushy" and Linda Sue will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by family and friends. Their legacy will live in everyone's lives they touched, and memories created from Sue's home cooked meals to Mushy's skilled welding in which his work still stands today and beyond.
A memorial service will be held on March 14, 2025 at the chapel of Fairview Cemetery, Denison, TX. 11:00 A.M. Family and friends visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service.
