Leslie Franklin Heppel, age 90, of Sherman, TX, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.  Leslie was born on December 28, 1932 in Ralston, OK to Frank Heppel and Chrystal (Petty) Heppel. He was a High School graduate and also attended college.  He married Jeanetta Large and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was formerly employed as post master for the postal service. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Jeanetta Heppel of Sherman, TX, his four children; Ruth Heppel Werner and spouse Regina Werner of Augusta, KS, Miki Merelli of Pottsboro, TX, Lisa Henneman of Frisco, TX, Dirk Heppel & Teresa of Celina, TX, his sister-in-law; Rosetta Heppel of Stillwater, OK, his brother; Dale Heppel & Cindy of Cushing, OK, fourteen grandchildren; Erin, Jacob, Joe, Jessica, Rachel, Haylee, Brent, Kyle, Karli, Taylor, Eli, Brandon, Bryan and Casey, numerous great-grandchildren, other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Frank and Chrystal Heppel, four brothers; Gerald, James, Donald and Daniel Heppel, his sister; Naomi Bode, his son; Derek Heppel vonTorne and granddaughter; Stacy Mitchell.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023, 3:00 P.M. at American Funeral Service, Denison, TX with Chaplain Steve Snodgrass officiating.  Family and friends visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 2:00 P.M.
