Obituary

Kenny Ray Gibson

Our hearts are broken to announce that Kenny Ray Gibson passed on from this life to join his Heavenly Father and wife, Traphena May Gibson, in Heaven on June 11th, 2024.

Kenny Ray Gibson was born on June 1, 1932, in Patmos, Arkansas, to George Augustus and Callie Nona Gibson. He was a son and a brother, but he gained his most treasured earthly role in March of 1954 when he married Traphena May Gibson. The two fell in love fast, marrying only four months after they met. Together, they raised their three sons, Marty Ray, Randal Glen, and Alan Shane Gibson. There was nothing Kenny loved more than his Savior, his wife, and his family. A talented musician, Kenny played guitar and sang, and he made sure that his kin would carry that talent as well. A devoted husband and loving father, and a friend to all, Kenny spent his 90 years on Earth loving, giving, and serving everyone he encountered.

Kenny was a member of the Woods Street Church of Christ, where he and Traphena attended weekly for fifty years. He was loved dearly by his church family whom he served with communion on a regular basis. He found a way to serve in every area of his life, no matter the capacity.

Kenny Gibson is survived by his sons, Randal Glen (and Clare) Gibson, and Alan Shane Gibson; his grandchildren Les Paul Gibson, Jason (and Prima) Gibson, Tasha (and Chris) Schaded, Shane (and Ashley) Gibson, Ashley (and Rowdy) Neu, and Coleman Gibson; his great-grandchildren Kayla (and Brandon) Staley, Ethan (and Larissa) Schaded, Brady Gibson, Charlee Gibson, Riley Gibson, Madeline Gibson, Cali Schaded, and Connelly Neu; and his great-great-granddaughter Sage Schaded.

Kenny is predeceased by his wife Traphena May Gibson, who left this world to join her Heavenly Father five days earlier, on June 6, 2024. Kenny stayed with us just long enough to commemorate the passing of his wife and spend precious time with his family before he was called home to be with her. He could not live without her, and it would be no surprise if he got to shake God's hand and choose when he would leave this Earth as well. Kenny is also predeceased by his firstborn son, Marty Ray Gibson.

Our hearts will have a hole that can never be filled, but we know he is with the Lord, finding ways to serve everyone in Heaven. We love you and we cannot wait to join you in Heaven when the Lord calls us home.
