Kenneth R Sorrell Sr., age 93 of Colbert, OK,  passed away at his residence, with his family by his side on Friday, August 04, 2023.  Kenneth was born on December 16, 1929, in Utica. OK to Jess and Madine Sorrell.  He was a graduate of Colbert High School.  Kenneth married the love of his life Dolores Nunley Sorrell and to this union two sons were born, Kenneth Jr. and David.  Soon after marriage the couple moved to Ft. Worth, TX to work building military planes at Consolidated Aircraft.  Their desire to be close to family brought them back to Colbert where Kenneth took a job at Pillsbury Co. where he worked for 36 years until his retirement.  During that work career, Kenneth and Dolores farmed and ranched and later owned and operated Colbert Greenhouse and Nursery.  After retirement from Pillsbury, they then worked an additional 21 years as US Corp of Engineers Recreation Camp Hosts.

Kenneth was a Christian and attended the Coleman Ave. Church of Christ, faithfully, with Dolores.  Kenneth was a loving, and dedicated husband and soulmate to Dolores for 72 years.  Kenneth  was a loving father and papaw to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren.  Kenneth loved traveling, fishing, gardening and almost anything he could do with family.

Left to cherish his memory are his children David and Regina Sorrell, grandchildren ; Michelle and Bart Harper of Madill, OK, Ryan and Shana Sorrell of Mustang OK, Jason Sorrell of Colbert, OK Justin and Dana Sorrell of Durant, OK, Jarrod and Savanna Sorrell of Crystal River FL, and Jeffrey Sorrell of Crystal River FL, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Dolores, parents Jess and Madine, his son Kenneth Jr., and his brothers Sam and Thural Sorrell.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Coleman Aven Church of Christ, Colbert, OK with Brother Richard Gage officiating.  Interment will be at the Garden of Memory Cemetery, Colbert, OK. Family and Friends visitation will be Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 7:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at the Coleman Avenue Church of Christ.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Lunch for family and friends will be at 12:00 at the Coleman Avenue Church of Christ.
