Julia D. Green shared her kindness, humor and generous spirit and was a friend to many for 80 years.  Julia passed away 04-25-24 @ 4:25 at her home in Sherman with the family and friends she cherished at her bedside, including her partner of 43 years, Betty B. Whitford and their daughter Ashley Czaplewski.

Julia was born April 2, 1944 in Terrell, Texas.  She was the daughter of Dorothy and Henry Cantrell and sister of Richard Green, all of whom preceded her in death.  She attended and graduated from Denison High School in 1962.  As an adult, Julia pursued interests in sewing, bingo, card games, woodworking and other crafts.  She and Betty together developed a love of golf, often playing three times a week.  Julia worked as a certified nursing assistant and then at the Sherman Texas instruments for 25 years.

Julia was raised in the Baptist church and faith became a fundamental part of her life; and Betty prayed together nightly.  Their daughter Ashley and their granddaughter Renee blessed their lives beyond their dreams, as did their schnauzer, Bea J.

Julia was a true friend to many and will be remembered for her unconditional love of others, her fun personality and her quick wit and humor.

She is survived by her partner, Betty B. Whitford, her daughter, Ashely Czaplewski (Matt) of Omaha, NE, her granddaughter, Renee of Omaha, NE, siblings, Dorothy Henslee of Denison, TX, Karen Elkins of Denison, TX, Jo Ellen Bell (David) of Sherman, TX, Nancy Carl of Sherman, TX and Hank Cantrell of Grand Prairie, TX and special friends, Carol Belmont, Paula Schneider and Marian Gentry.
