Obituary

Jonna Renee Newton (née Brummett), 65, entered into rest Saturday, September 19, 2026, at
her home in Denison, Texas. She was born February 23, 1961, in Los Angeles, California,
daughter of John Brummett and Alma June Fraiser.

She came from a musical family, but Jonna loved stories. She had one for every person and
occasion. She swapped books with friends, and later sharing films and TV shows with those
closest to her became her favorite pastime.

Jonna loved her family deeply, and her home was always open and accepting to others. You
could always count on her to speak her mind, give honest advice, and tell a wild story that would
leave everyone laughing together. Her dog, Chewy, was one of her closest companions. He
passed away earlier this year, and now they are reunited. Jonna loved fiercely, lived boldly, and
was always fully herself. She was truly one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by both parents and her younger sister, Judy Parton. She is
survived by three brothers, Jim Brummett of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Tony Brummett and his
fiancée, Mary, of Alma, Arkansas, and Robert Wilson of Saint George, Utah; her sister, Tracey
Harrison of San Tan Valley, Arizona; her son, Bruce Davis Jr. of Denison, Texas; her daughters,
Heather Thompson and her wife, Marlene, of Denison, Texas, and Rachelle Sheesley of Fort
Smith, Arkansas; her bonus daughter, Holly Montgomery of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her
grandson, Brett Davis and his wife, Samantha; and her granddaughters, Jada Davis and her
wife, Myldred, and Kayla Bishop.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Remarkable Hospice and American
Funeral Service, both of Denison, Texas, for the care and support they provided to Jonna and
her loved ones.
