Johnny Ray Richey, age 18, of Sherman,TX, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, October 15, 2023. Johnny was born to Charles Ray Richey and Julie Sue Brimager Richey on August 15, 2005.

Johnny Ray was a senior at Whitesboro High School. Even though his journey through this world was short, it was very meaningful.  To quote one of his favorite movies, "How to Train Your Dragon,"  "The most important day of your life is not the day you were born, but the day you learn why" speaks volumes to our Johnny.  He may not know the why, but those at Whitesboro ISD that loved him do know.  He was here to teach us how a pure soul could imprint your heart.  Johnny had unrelenting challenges and obstacles in his life that would crush the spirit of most.  There were very few times that he did not have a kind word, a sweet nickname, or simply a smile for his school family.  Johnny loved his Beyblades and was quick to challenge anyone to a Beyblade dual, almost always coming out the winner! If you wanted to talk dinosaurs or Star Wars, he was your man.  We all take comfort in knowing he was in a loving place when he was called home.  His WISD family will miss him forever, but we know he is in the comforting arms of the Lord and will always be smiling down on us.
