Obituary

Joey Dean Bowerman

Joey Dean Bowerman, 56, of Denison, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on June 23, 2026.

Joey was born on June 2, 1970, to Loretta Blackburn and Larry Bowerman. On September 14, 1996, he married the love of his life, Tracy Bowerman. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and devotion. Joey proudly raised Tracy's three children as his own, loving them unconditionally and supporting them throughout their lives.

For 25 years, Joey dedicated himself to his career with Holland Company, where he was respected for his hard work, reliability, and strong character.

Joey was a calm, soft-spoken man whose wisdom seemed endless. He was the kind of person who would give a helping hand without hesitation and never expected anything in return. Everyone who knew Joey—or even had the privilege of meeting him—was drawn to his kind heart and genuine nature. He lived by strong morals, worked tirelessly, and possessed a heart of gold.

Joey had a passion for anything fast and anything that could be raced. Whether it involved engines, speed, or working with his hands, he found joy in creating, fixing, and building. He was happiest when he was spending time with family, helping others, or working on a project.

Joey was preceded in death by his parents, Loretta Blackburn and Larry Bowerman; his son, Christopher; his mother-in-law, Jaunita Moody; and his father-in-law, Lanny Johnson.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Tracy Bowerman; his grandmother, Charlene Blackburn; his daughter, Heather Vawter, and son-in-law, Ryan Logston; his son, Justin Vawter, and daughter-in-law, Kayndra Vawter; his daughter, Stephanie Heidenreiter, and spouse Teal Heidenreiter; his sisters, Crystal Hemmenway and April Simmons; and his cherished grandchildren, Isabella Morales, Bentley Morales, Ryder Vawter, River Vawter, Lily Vawter, Laken Vawter, and Logan Vawter.

Joey's legacy of kindness, integrity, hard work, and unconditional love will live on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Celebration of life will be held on July 3, 2026 at 5pm at American Funeral Home 4312 W. Crawford street Denison, Texas.
