James Robert Young, age 75 of Whitesboro, TX, passed away at North Texas Medical Center, Gainesville, on Monday, July 31, 2023. James was born on February 10, 1948 in Coleman County, TX to James Alton Young & Rosemary (Talbert) Young.  He was a High School graduate and proudly served his country in the military.  He formerly worked in construction doing asphalt work.  He married Judy Young.  He will be greatly missed by his loving family.

He loved his motorcycles, his dog Sassy, and always wanted to go fishing but rarely took the time. He could operate any piece of equipment with expertise, long before computers did the calculations for a perfect grade.  He could accomplish it using only his sight. He had an amazing sense of humor and a gift for making others laugh with him. He somehow knew when anyone he loved needed to hear from him, and he always knew what to say to make them feel better.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Judy Young of Whitesboro, TX, his two daughters; Tina Young of Billings, Montana and Shelley Hickman of Coleman, TX, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, other extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; James and Rosemary Young and his brother; Larry Young.

Funeral service will be Friday, August 4, 2023, 2:00 P.M. at American Funeral Service Chapel, Denison, TX with Richard Gage officiating.  Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro, TX.  Family and friends visitation will be Thursday, August 3, 2023, 6 – 7 p.m. at American Funeral Service.
