James Earnest Powell, age 90, of Sherman, TX, passed away peacefully at Stonebrook Assisted Living, Denison, TX, on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.  James was born on December 10, 1932 in McKinney, TX to Austin Powell and Ethel (Lee) Powell.  He was a High School Graduate and also had a degree from Austin College.  He married Holly Lankford. He was self employed as an advertizing agency.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  James will be greatly missed by his loving wife, family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife; Holly Powell of Sherman, TX, his children; Greg Powell & Shelly of Indiana, Jenny Watson & Mark of Dallas, TX, and Valerie & Garrett Adams of Dallas, TX, his brother; Alton Powell & Foncie of Arlington, TX, grandchildren; Henry & Jack Powell, Emily Hundley and Claire Browning, James Powell, other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Austin & Ethel Powell and a brother; Clifford Powell and sister; Laura Brooks.
