On April 12,2024 another angel was given his wings. James Anthony Hiberd (Tony), age 65, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus at Texoma Medical Center surrounded by his loving family after a 6 year battle with cancer.

James was born September 15,1958, in Sherman, Texas the son of James and Linda Hiberd.

James loved spending time with his family and friends and celebrating his Indian heritage. His passing leaves a void in so many lives, but his indomitable spirit will dwell in our hearts forever.

James was preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Douglas Hiberd, Linda Nell McCoy Hiberd, and beloved brother, Jerry Don Hiberd, today they celebrate a new life!

He also leaves behind Melissa Garner of Arkansas, his son DJ Shields and family of Dallas, TX, and sisters Vita Ortega of Calera, OK, Kathy Dennis and husband, Keith of Denison, TX. Nieces and nephews: Tiffany Dennis Miller, Amee Dennis, Jeremy Strand, Jeri Daun Hiberd Jackson, Jessica Hiberd and Christopher Erickson. Grand niece Braylee Daun Steens, grand nephews Maddix Jay Riddick, Jaxen, Romeo, Sonny and Miko Strand, Oliver Joiner and Hunter Hutchinson

Family visitation will be held 4/18/2024 from 6-7pm at American Funeral Home in Colbert, OK..

Celebration of life will be held immediately following visitation at 7pm with Rev. Raymond England officiating.

The family wants to thank all of their family and friends for the prayers, food, phone calls, visits and being there for us during this trying time. It wasn't an easy road, but somehow you were always here for our family. We love you all.

Arrangements are under the direction of American Funeral Home, located in Colbert, OK.
