Jack Edward
Bornheim
Sep 24, 1945 — Aug 9, 2023
Colbert
Jack Edward Bornheim, age 77, of Colbert, OK, passed away after a brief illiness, at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, TX on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Jack was born in McAlester, OK on September 24, 1945 to Louie Bornheim Jr. and Jean (Sims) Bornheim. He was a graduate of Colbert High School and married the love of his life, Judy Lynn Rayburn on February 22, 1969 in Mesquite, TX. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was retired from RC Can/Sonoco Inc. Jack was a very likeable man and enjoyed visiting with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by his loved one
Jack was a force to be reckoned with. He was one of a kind. Jack was a devoted, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a friend to many. We were blessed to have him in our lives.
Jack and Judy married in February of 1969 - a commitment of 54 years. There is something to be said about a commitment that can be not only shown, but felt. Jack loved his family and he made sure we all knew it. He was the type of person that would do anything for anyone. It didn't matter who you were. He was a very trusting and giving man. Being surrounded by his family, a good meal, and catching up on OU football with his grandson was special to him. He enjoyed trips to Branson, collecting firearms and antiques, and working out in the yard - a place we will now forever see as a precious part of him. Jack loved playing practical jokes on family, friends, and strangers. At times you didn't know if he was being serious or not, he was so good at it. In the end, what we remember best are not really the grand things, but all the tiny yet necessary bits of a person's whole. How blessed we have all been to have Jack in our lives.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife; Judy Lynn Bornheim of Colbert, OK, his daughter; Rhonda Travis & Anthony of Pottsboro, TX, his two brothers; Jerry Bornheim & Norma of Colbert, OK and Larry Metts & Patti of Colbert, OK, two grandchildren; Gage Travis and wife Molly of Colbert, OK, Carrington Travis, two great-grandchildren; Cash Travis and Kyle Blair Travis, other extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother; Louie Russell Bornheim and his grandparents; Riley & Carol Sims.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023, 10:00 A.M. at Garden of Memory Cemetery, Colbert, OK, with Pastor Novice Northington officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be Anthony Travis, Gage Travis, Lyndon Nix and Mike Weger. Family and friends visitation will be Sunday, August 13 2023, 6 – 8 p.m. at American Funeral Service, Colbert, OK.
