Heron Gonzalez, a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on March 13, 2025 at the age of 66.

Heron was born on November 20,1958 in Los Angeles, California to Raoul and Altagracia Gonzalez. He was the 6th child of seven children and his remaining living siblings are Yolanda Casey and Rita Bermudez.

He joined the Army at a young age and was trained as a paratrooper. During this time he dedicated himself to excelling as he served his country and would later receive an honorable discharge.

He would become "Daddy" to Arlene, Heron Jr., and Molly as he raised them as a single father. Even his children's friends would come to call him daddy.

He worked many different jobs to provide for his family from a fruit market in California to a parking attendant at the Salt Lake International Airport in Salt Lake City.

He loved his role as father, but his most cherished role was when he became a grandfather. He would have 15 grandchildren that he adored with one great grandchild, and a great grandson on the way. For a time he would help raise two of his grandchildren, Alleysaya and Naielli.

For Heron, his family was his world.

Heron will be missed most profoundly and although he is not with us, his memories will live on in the hearts and minds of all those who loved him.
