Obituary

On Monday, January 22, 2024, Harold Lindsey Bledsoe left this world to be with his Heavenly Father. Harold was a beloved son, brother, father, and papa, who passed from this life to his eternal life at the age of 91.

Harold Lindsey was born in Gunter, Tx to Rufus and Bertha Bledsoe on January 13, 1933. He grew up in the Gunter and Van Austyne area. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Ida Jane Troxtell, brother Roy Bledsoe, and his son, Harold Wayne Bledsoe. He is survived by two daughters. Brenda Carol Bledsoe-Adams, Terri Lynn Bledsoe, six grandchildren, Benjamin Keeling, Joshua Adams, Sara Seals- Adams, Brendan Adams, Jessy Bledsoe. Juddson Bledsoe, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Harold joined the US ARMY (1st Calvary Division), where he was wounded while serving our country during the Korean War. He saved lives on the battlefield by carrying his fellowmen over his shoulder, earning him an honorable Purple Heart award and a featured cover of a magazine.

After the military, Harold worked and retired from the Dart Transportation Co. in Dallas, Texas. He loved his country, the state of Texas and the Dallas Cowboys. You could often find Harold to be mischievous and a prankster. He loved to be the center of attention with his elaborate stories and BIG hand gestures.

Harold loved the Lord and believed in Jesus Christ as his Savior. He would often remind us that death is a part of life by saying, "If you ever figure out how to make it out of this world alive, let me know."  His sarcastic remarks were the pinnacle of most conversations. His eyes were as big and blue as the Texas sky, and he had a heart for his family and his dogs.

A celebration of Harold Lindsey Bledsoe's life will be held at American Funeral Home in Colbert, Ok on Thursday, January 25th, 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm. His wishes were to be cremated and his ashes to be placed by his parents.
