Funeral service for Gwendolyn Castleman, age 86, of Denison, Texas, will be held at American Funeral Service on Thursday, June 4, 2026 under the direction of American Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.  Gwendolyn passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026 in Denison, Texas.

She was born on August 21, 1939 in Durant, Oklahoma to Homer Eslick and Lucy Eastwood.

Gwendolyn taught school in Pottsboro, Texas for 37 years and was a long-time active member of Central Church of Christ in Denison, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Royce Castleman and sister Lahoma Clark.

She is survived by her children Letha Sheffield and spouse, Danna Garrison and spouse; Grandchildren Brandon Garrison, Dustin Garrison, Shelbie Garrison, Britney Breaux and spouse, and James Sheffield and spouse along with three great grandchildren.
