Gregory Russell Stewart
December 17, 1963 - May 14, 2025
Gregory Russell Stewart, "Termite" to his work friends, passed away at the age of 61 on May
14, 2025 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX.
Born in Bakersfield, CA to Orvil Stewart and Janet Mathis, Greg was a graduate of Denison
High School, and worked diligently his entire life as a woodworker, carpenter, and well-rounded
handyman.
A lover of boats and the ocean, he spent his time working on the water whenever
he could, going so far as to obtain scuba certifications while living in Florida, and working at
one of the local marinas once back in Texas. He enjoyed making, building, and painting models
of boats, historical replicas, and even miniature trains. The pride he took in his work was
especially evident in his wood art, which included vases, clocks, ornate furniture, and even his
own fully-functional workshop, the latter of which could often be observed lit late at night,
echoing with the sounds of his favorite classic rock radio station.
Greg is preceded in death by his mother Janet. He is survived by his partner Linda Roberts; his
sons Shawn Stewart (and partner Zandra Denise Mercedes Rodriguez), Chad Stewart, and
Brad Roberts; his sister Robin Klauser (and husband Bob Klauser); and nephews Joseph Jones
and Rodney Stewart. Greg and his family were, and continue to be, supported by his close
friends, including Bruce and Lynda Martin, Mark and Theresa Davis, Warren Greer, Dennis
Davis, and Laurie Malveira.
