Glynda Willene Barkley, age 69, of Achille, OK,  peacefully passed away at her residence on Wednesday, August 20, 2024.  Willene was born on February 24, 1955 in Durant, OK to Dale Franklin Malaney and Barbara Duke Malaney Beshirs.  She was a high school graduate and homemaker.  She loved and enjoyed caring for her family. She worked in a beauty shop that she had built in the home, called "Country Girl Beauty Salon".  Later she worked at Texas Instruments (T.I.) of Sherman, TX and Superior Magnetics of Denison, TX.  She was of the Apostolic Faith, with Victory Tabernacle being her home church.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Willene had many hobbies. She enjoyed cake decorating, oil painting on canvas of any old piece of junk, creating a beautiful piece of art.  She loved having a pretty yard and flower beds.  She spent much time watching western movies and listening to her collection of music.  She always  was excited about the holidays with Christmas being her favorite.  She was a good cook and always had a big dinner.  You could always count on having her favorite, and now everyone else's favorite dessert, chocolate delight.  The countless decorations she had, her huge tree that would light up her eyes.  But the pure joy most of all was being with family.

Left to cherish her memory is daughter; Stephanie Barkley of Achille, OK, her son; Shannon Barkley and wife Cindy of McAlester, OK, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, other extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; Dale Malaney, mother; Barbara Beshirs, sister; Dwana Farrell, brothers; Jerry Malaney, Dennis Malaney, infant brother; Cecil Malaney and grandson; Joseph Barlow.

Funeral service will be Friday, August 23, 2024, 10:00 A. M. at Lighthouse Church, Colbert, Ok with pastor Joe Beshirs and Chaplin David Kautt officiating.  Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery, Achille, OK.  Family and friends visitation will be Thursday, August 22, 2024, 6 – 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be volunteer fire fighters and police officers of Achille, OK.
