George Edward McAfee, age 80, of Gainesville, Texas, was born on January 14, 1946 to Edward Leslie McAfee and Ida Mae King.  He passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026 in Denton, Texas.

He enjoyed many hobbies including cooking, fishing, hunting, watching his favorite Westerns and working in his yard.   He also had fun collecting pocket knifes and adding new items to his collection .

He was preceded in death by his dad, Edward McAfee, mother, Idea Mae King, son, Kenneth McAfee and wife Georgia McAfee.

He is survived by sons:  Kirby McAfee, Curtis McAfee, and Casey McAfee and wife Michelle McAfee of Gainesville.  Sisters:  Glenda  Hatten and husband Johnny Hatten, Faye and husband Johnny Crisp.  Brothers: Freddy and wife Charlotte McAfee, of Gainesville, Harold and Lucretia McAfee of Oklahoma and seven grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas.  Burial will immediately follow the service.
