Gary Evan
Talbott
Jan 11, 1954 — Jan 22, 2024
Denison
Gary Evan Talbott passed away on January 22, 2024, at his home. He was 69. He attended school at Willow Springs Elementary School and Pottsboro High School. His father, Marvin B. Talbott and mother, Jesse Mae Talbott Bates, predeceased him. He worked for the City of Denison, Texas, and retired after 25 years. Gary enjoyed life and tried to help everyone he met to the best of his ability. He was 2nd Vice Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 62, and he was an honorary member of the American Legion Riders. He was liked by everyone and supported by everyone. He loved darts and made numerous friends who looked after him to the very end. He spent much of his life devoted to the American Legion because he believed in it and those who serve. His father served in WWII, his brother and sister-in-law served during the Vietnam era and his niece served during the Gulf war. He was proud to be an honorary part of the American Legion because of their service. At the Legion Hall he was known as "THE MAN" and we chose those words and the Legion symbol to be engraved on his gravestone at Georgetown Cemetery. He is survived by his brother and two sisters. May he rest in peace.
