Gary Gene Grimes, beloved son of Kevin and Janie Hall Grimes of Calera, Oklahoma, was born on April 13, 1983, in Sherman, Texas. Gary was a devoted believer in Jesus Christ, placing his faith and trust in God. On May 12, 2026, he departed this earthly life and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior.

Gary graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, Texas, in May of 2001. He lived a life full of adventure—so much so that adventure could have been his middle name. His journey took him to many places across the country, including Maryland, Illinois, and Ohio, before ultimately returning home to the Texoma area.

Above all, Gary cherished his family. He loved spending time with his children—his sons and daughter—who were the center of his world. He enjoyed golfing and hunting and found peace and comfort in the mountains, where he loved to vacation.

Gary had a gift for connecting with others and made a lasting impression on many lives. He loved the Lord deeply and enjoyed singing—often with enthusiasm that might have made the dogs howl. Known for his kindness and generous spirit, Gary was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was especially passionate about landscaping and took great pride in caring for plants and creating beautiful outdoor spaces.

Gary's life will be forever treasured by his parents, Kevin and Janie Grimes of Calera, Oklahoma; his sons, Mark and Luke Grimes of the home, and Caleb Grimes of Morris, Oklahoma; his daughter, Audrey Grimes of Sherman, Texas; his sister, Heather Vineyard (Nick) of Colbert, Oklahoma; and his nieces, Madison and Megan Vineyard. He is also lovingly remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, H.L. and Jeanette Grimes and Freda Hedrick Grimes; his maternal grandparents, Morris and Sylvia Hall; his uncle, Keith Grimes; his aunt, Sherry Grimes; and his uncle, Larry Hall.

Family night will be held on Friday, May 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Colbert in Colbert, Oklahoma.
