Douglas McArthur Whipple, age 79, of Mead, OK, passed away peacefully at Carrus Hospital, Sherman, TX on Sunday, January 28, 2024 with his family near.  Douglas was born on June 15, 1944 in New Berlin, NY to Fred Whipple and Abigale (Sweet) Whipple.  He formerly worked in automotive as a mechanic.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter; Christina Thornhill & Justin of Mead, OK, his step-children; Crystal Carr & tom of Marlboro, NY, Charles Davenport & Lynn of Oxford, NY, adopted son; Douglas Wildenstien of Greenville, NY, his sisters; Nellie Davis, Mary Jane Uplinger, Emma Pearl Davis, his brothers; Herbert Whipple, Louis Whipple, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Carol Whipple in 2021 and his parents; Fred & Abigale Whipple.
