Obituary

Douglas Glenn Gray passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 31, 2025. He was born November 6, 1961 at Wilson N Jones in Sherman, Texas, to Doris Katherine "Honey" Cundiff/Gray/Easter and Glenn Edward Gray.

During his younger years, his father was within the military, and they moved to Minot, North Dakota, before they settled in Denison, TX. He enjoyed traveling, and would go on trips frequently across the states. He loved mountain biking, camping, and hiking and going on adventures with his family. He was a story-teller. He loved his jokes, humor, and always had a smile on his face. He was a musician – absolutely loved the drums. He played in high school bands, and a few local bands after high school ended. He loved to sing, and spent his life teaching his family his love of music. He had a passion for storm chasing as well. He was known as "Big Daddy" to all of his grandchildren, and he will forever be missed.

While married to previous wife, Kristina Gray, he became intrigued with the medical field, and started going to school for nursing. Doug received his EMT certification while he was at Texas Instruments, and then went further to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse through Grayson College. After finishing his licensure as a nurse, he began his career with Grayson County Jail in their medical department. He worked at Grayson County Jail until 2020, and shortly afterwards he started working at Texoma Community Center as a LVN working with adolescents and adults with mental health concerns. Doug was well known for his humor, trouble-making, and enjoyment with working with his peers and the clients he served. His nursing co-workers will be continuing on his most recent project of counting down the days until his retirement date in his memory.
