Douglas Mac Atnip, age 72, of Denison, TX, passed peacefully away at his residence, Friday, March 22, 2024.  Douglas was born on September 15, 1951 in San Antonio, TX to Vernon Atnip and Jennie (Nunn) Atnip.  He was a High School graduate and also proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He married Cindy Leverett.  He will be greatly missed by his loving family.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 36 years; Cindy Atnip, his children; Brandon Atnip, Ryan Atnip, Kimberly Baker, his daughters-in-law; Lacy Christian, Jenny Atnip, son-in-law; Zac Baker, his brother; Stuart Atnip, sisters-in-law; Carla Brown, Stephanie Hilliard, brother-in-law; Jimmy Brown, grandchildren; Nick Atnip, Matt Atnip, A.J. Atnip, Brooke Atnip, Haylee Atnip, Hayden Atnip, Makayla Baker, Layla Atnip, Zoey Baker, Marcus, Collin, four great-grandchildren, nieces; Jenny Duvall, Kaleigh Goff, nephews; Brandon Leverett, Justin Hilliard, great-nieces; Bailey Leverett, Chassis Mendoza, Raegan, great-nephews; Braden Clark, Cadence, Lawson Leverett, Laiken Leverett, father-in-law; David Leverett, other extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Vernon & Jenny Atnip and brother-in-law; Kenny Hilliard.

A memorial service will be Thursday, March 28, 2024, 11:00 A.M. at American Funeral Service, Denison, TX.  Family and friends visitation will be one hour prior to service, 10:00 A.M.
