Doris Ann Cowden, age 83, of Pottsboro, TX, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, December 10, 2023.  Doris was born January 24, 1940 to Herman Williamson and Irene Wilson Williamson in Denison, TX. She was a graduate of Denison High School and was formerly employed in food service at Oscar Meyer.  She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends.

Left to cherish her memory is her children; Walter Cowden & Holly of Oklahoma City, OK, Renee Douglas & Neal of Sherman, TX, Allen Cowden & Connie of Sherman, TX, Julie Crouse of Denison, TX, her sister; Marie Lallathin of Sherman, TX, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Herman and Irene Williamson, her husband; William Cowden in 2017, brother; James Williamson and infant brother; Leo, grandson; Danny Allen, great-grandson; Layne Paris.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, 2:30 P.M. at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Denison, TX with Michael Perry officiating. Family and friends visitation will be Wednesday, December 13, 2023, 1 – 2 p.m. at American Funeral Service, Denison, TX.

Pallbearers will be Bill Cowden, James Cowden, Will Cowden, Charlie Douglas, Bryan Douglas and Kyle Herd.
