He was the cherished only child of his parents Ada and W.J. McCarley.  He grew up largely in Oklahoma, with a love for sports; especially baseball and football. He was a great athlete in his youth, and a devoted son.

He followed in his father's footsteps in the United States Military, serving in Vietnam, and being awarded an honorable discharge after 5 years of service, with many awards, and an E5 rank.

A devoted Christian, Dickie was deeply rooted in his faith and love for God and Jesus.  He often shared his faith with others, and was eager to one day be home with the Lord, and his beloved friends and family who had passed.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed the company of numerous pets, which reflected his deep love and compassion for animals and all walks of life.

He had deep love and commitment for his family, and was known for his amazing sense of humor, good looks, charm and charisma.

Professionally, he excelled in various fields, working years in the car business, serving as a geological surveyor for GSI, and taking on many sales, and sales management roles.

He earned his bachelor's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1995, in psychology, and later worked as a Veteran's representative, and also worked in a psych ward as well.

He was survived by his Mother, Ada Lucille McCarley, of Paris, TX, and was preceded in death by his father W.J. McCarley. He is also survived by daughter, Leanne Rene McCarley Smith, of Blossom, TX, and son in law, Scott Smith. His granddaughter, Taylor Nicole Green, of Shreveport, LA, and future son in law, Lance Michael Rich, of Shreveport, LA. His Grandson, Travis Michael Green of Roanake, TX, and his girlfriend, April Trevino. His best friend and first cousin, Dub Phillips, and wife, Michelle Phillips, and their children Connor and Carly Phillips, out of Sugarland, TX.

He is survived by many other loving and beloved cousins, aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews, and many friends and colleagues.

He was very well loved, had an amazing sense of humor and high level intelligence, wit and charm.

He will be truly missed.
