Obituary

Diane Carol (Hebert) Jones
November 5, 1955 – July 3, 2025

Diane Carol Jones, 69, passed away peacefully on July 3 at Carrus Health Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, Diane was one of five children of Raymond and Carolyn (Langley) Hebert. In 1978 she and her sister Robin boarded a bus bound for Texas—an adventure that changed the course of her life. By journey's end Robin returned home alone, while Diane planted lasting roots in the Lone Star State.

On October 13, 1979, she married the love of her life, Michael Wayne Jones, and together they raised two devoted children, Shanna and Mark. After Michael's untimely death on September 22, 2000, Diane drew on her deep well of strength, proudly guiding her children into adulthood as a single mother.

Gifted with numbers and a quick wit, Diane spent 18 years as an account manager at MFG in Gainesville, Texas. Colleagues trusted and looked for her guidance; friends and family trusted her steadfast heart. Fiercely loyal, she was, as her siblings say, "the best sister anyone could ask for," and, as her children recall, always willing to "go to war" for those she loved.

Diane is survived by her daughter, Shanna Price, and son-in-law Dugan of Muenster, Texas; her son, Mark Jones, and daughter-in-law Hailey of Aubrey, Texas; her step-daughter Shay Bekker, and her husband Brian of Georgetown, Texas; her step-son Michael and wife Lori; her sister, Robin Frisella and husband Fred; her brothers, William Hebert and wife Marcia, Don Hebert and wife Kathryn; sister-in-law Summer; three treasured grandchildren—Paityn, Bella, and Regan Price; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her warmth, humor, and unwavering support. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; her parents, Raymond and Carolyn; and her brother Richard Hebert.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Carrus Health CCU and Hospice teams for their compassionate care.

A celebration of Diane's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at The White Buffalo Barn, 1641 FM 2896, Gainesville, Texas. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend and share their memories.
