David Jack
Dunn
Jul 15, 1953 — Apr 21, 2025
Denison
David Jack Dunn, a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep early in the morning on April 21, 2025. Born in Denison, Texas, David's life was marked by his deep love for family and his appreciation for life's simple joys — especially fishing.
David was the proud father of six children and their spouses: Tracey Wright, Holly Dunn, Michelle Starr, Jennifer Johns, David Dunn, and Robert Cogburn. He was a loving grandfather to Ashlyn Dunn, Alyson Burk, Bailey Starr, Mason Starr, Kaitlyn Johns, Isabelle Dunn, Kinleigh Johns, and Lily Wright. David was also a proud great-grandfather to Brixlynn and Elliott David, who carries his name as a lasting tribute to the love and legacy he leaves behind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Betty Dunn, and his brother Boyd Dunn. David is survived by his brother, Doug Dunn, and remained especially close to his niece and nephews, Greg Dunn, Felicia Reynolds, and Brandon Dunn — Boyd's children — along with their spouses. He was also deeply connected to many cousins and extended family members, all of whom he cherished and held dear throughout his life.
David's greatest joys were found in the company of his family and in quiet moments by the water with a fishing pole in hand. His warmth, humor, and kind spirit left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
Per his family's wishes, David will be cremated under the care of American Funeral Service in Denison, Texas. A private, informal celebration of his life will be held by his loved ones at a later date, where memories will be shared and his life joyfully remembered.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that his family and friends will hold close to their hearts forever.
