Cynthia Ann
Helms
Sep 13, 1960 — Nov 20, 2024
Cartwright
Cynthia "Cindy" Helms, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 20, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia. Cindy was 64 years old and surrounded by love during her final days.
Born on September 13, 1960, Cindy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and faith. She was known for her larger-than-life personality, her unshakable spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel like family. Cindy had a deep appreciation for the little things that made life beautiful: nurturing her cherished plants, picking up pretty rocks, marveling at butterflies, and singing along to her favorite Eagles songs. Her ability to find joy in simplicity will be remembered by all who knew her.
Cindy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted husband, Allen Helms; her father and mother, Allen and Ann Kurtz; her brother, David Kurtz; her sister, Barbie Patterson; her children, Brian Allen, Bobby Allen, and Amanda Rogers; and her grandchildren: Adrian Allen, Leo Allen, Wyatt Allen, Abigail Allen, Sebastian Perry, Nathan House, Macie Helms, Alana Rogers, and Casey House. Cindy was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Atlas Allen, Miles Allen, and McKinley Lascola, who will carry her memory forward. Cindy also leaves behind a whole bunch of friends and bonus kids whom she loved like her own.
Cindy will always be remembered for her fearless love, her strength, and her appreciation for life's simplest blessings. Every time her family and friends tend to a plant, pick up a beautiful rock, see a butterfly, or hear an Eagles song, they will feel her presence and smile through their tears.
Family Night will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Colbert Avenue Church of Christ, Colbert, Oklahoma, to celebrate Cindy's life and say goodbye. If Cindy ever wrapped you in one of her signature hugs or shared a moment of her kindness, you are invited to join the family in honoring her memory.
Though Cindy's absence leaves an ache in the hearts of all who loved her, they find comfort in imagining her in heaven, reuniting with loved ones, laughing, tending to heavenly plants, and giving those warm hugs she was so well known for.
Fly high, Cindy. You will forever be missed and always loved.
