Catherine Mae Proffitt, age 72, of Gainesville, TX, peacefully passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Catherine was born on September 6, 1951, in Gainesville, TX, to Basil Martin Robinette and Helena (Bridges) Robinette. She was a high school graduate of Gainesville High School and was blessed to be a homemaker, raising, guiding, and instilling Christian values within her children as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 42 years, Tommy Proffitt of Gainesville, TX; her children: Lacey and Tad Myers of Josephine, TX, Kaley and Trent Hodgkinson of Collinsville, TX; five grandchildren: Corbin, Emerson, and Ainsley Hodgkinson, and Levi and Addisyn Myers; one sister: Linda Evans with husband Jimmy Evans of Woodbine, TX; one brother-in-law Dennis Proffitt & wife Patti; nephews and nieces: Timmy, Sonya, and Jason Evans, Lori King, Brant & Ruth Robinette, Ammie Foster, and Whitney & Aaron Lemons. She is also loved and remembered by her extended family: Justin, Jacob, and Jarrett King, as well as Nieson, Cason, Libby, and Braxton Evans, and numerous cousins and family friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Basil & Helena Robinette, in-laws Roger Proffitt & Jackie Proffitt, and her brother, Randy Robinette.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, TX, with Trent Hodgkinson officiating.
